The Association for Geographic Information (AGI) held its annual awards dinner on London on 24th November to celebrate innovation and best practice in the UK geographic information sector. Graham Morgan of Spatial Consultants was presented with the AGI Director's Award for his work in developing the geocommunity in the north of England.

The North fared very well during the evening with Barrow Borough Council receiving the award for Innovation in the Public Sector, and Manchester Geomatics picking up the award for Innovation in the Private Sector.

Graham is Chairman of the AGI Northern Group, a professional group that holds a monthly programme of events across the north of England. He supported by a dedicated team including John Marchant of Skilstream, Mike Cottrill of Sellafield, Peter Wightman of Greater Manchester Transport, Mike Shankster of the Environment Agency, Stuart Mitchell of United Utilities and Ross Carter from Arup.
