SpatialInfo Data Migration Complete

Spatial consultants complete data migration contract for SpatialInfo Inc of Denver Colorado. Demonstrating the convenience of remote service provision this project was conducted directly against the SpatialInfo servers in Denver over an internet VPN connection enabling progress to be made rapidly with regular review and validation by members of the distributed team. Safe Software’s FME data transformation tools and SQLMM were used to extract and transform cable network data from a SpatialNet model in an Oracle Spatial data to produce a series of MapInfo tab files to a custom specification.

SPATIALinfo is a network management software company who provide software applications to manage physical and logical networks for utility (electric, gas, water, and waste water), cable/broadband and telecommunications companies. Online at http://www.spatialinfo.com/ 

Spatial Consultants Present Lecture at the University of Cumbria

Graham Morgan presented a lecture to GIS students at the newly established University of Cumbria in Carlisle. The presentation provided the students with a practitioner’s view on the roles and relevance of GIS in modern IT architectures and presented real examples from implementations in Australia, Canada, the US and the UK. Graham commented “The University program offers local students with the opportunity to study exciting subjects like Geographical Information Science on the edge of the Lake District; we are delighted to be involved with the University and look forward to working with graduates in the near future.”

Spatial Consultants joins the West Cumbria Business Cluster to build relationships with local businesses and to develop supply chain strategies for the nuclear industry, government and energy markets.

West Cumbria Business Cluster was founded in 2003 by a small number of individuals who came together to discuss ways in which to work together to grow their businesses locally, nationally and internationally.
